Better Baseball is the coming together of years of education, training, passion, and vision of coaches from a variety of backgrounds. Our coaches have formal education in physiology and nutrition; have played and coached travel, high school, and college baseball; and worked with D1 and D3 university baseball and football strength and conditioning programs; ensuring our coaches are helping athletes develop in all aspects of the game. With our combined knowledge, experience, and individualized approach to training, we have developed players to reach a college commitment rate of 40% -- well above the national average of 10% for high school baseball players.

After Owner and Head Trainer Nathan Strome concluded his time playing at the collegiate level, he knew he wasn't ready to give up his lifelong love of baseball. After being invited to tryout for the Texas Rangers and Cincinnati Reds, he realized playing professionally was not the route he envisioned for himself; and instead decided to take on the other side of baseball -- coaching. He went on to first coach high school baseball; in his first year as a high school coach, he gave his team their first winning season in 7 years. Shortly thereafter, Coach Strome began transitioning to individual skills training, and later started coaching travel teams; of the first travel team he coached,10 of 13 players went on to play D1, JUCO, NAIA, and D3 college baseball.

At this point, Coach Strome's success with developing athletes was evident, and he decided to take the cage in his backyard and build it into a full-fledged facility; and thus, Better Baseball was born. The name came from Coach Strome's typical tongue-in-cheek exclamation to his athletes to "just, do it better." As the word spread, players began to come in from all over the state, with some driving as far as 65 miles each week to train in evidence-proven, data driven programs. With many athletes looking to extend quality skills training into their game, many requested that Coach Strome start coaching travel teams as well; giving rise to the Better Baseball Legends. From that time, and with so much loyal support, Better Baseball has grown and moved into an even bigger facility, brought on more qualified, trained coaches, and added more age ranges to their teams.

Above all, Coach Strome's goal is to simply mentor and support young men and their families through the game of baseball. All of the coaches at Better Baseball are passionate not only about baseball, but about having a positive impact on our athletes’ journeys, both on and off the field.
